    BIRD OWNERS!!
    THIS IS VITALLY IMPORTANT!
We need to work together to wipe out PDD, Proventricular Dilitation Syndrome, aka Macaw Wasting Disease. This is a horrible contagious disease that kills hundreds of parrots every year, slowly and painfully. ALL parrots can contract this illness--it can remain hidden for years before beginning to show signs in an infected bird. Your donations can help find a test and maybe even a cure for this awful disease. Click on the link below to learn more about PDD and the fight against it.

    HAVE QUESTIONS?

If you think your bird is ill or if it is acting unusual, do not stop to write to anyone on the internet--get your bird to a veterinarian immediately!

I get a lot of e-mail and I do not have time to respond to most questions from individuals. Sorry if this sounds unfriendly, but there are many sources to get information on the web, and my time online is limited.

A little research with a search engine will get you more answers than I could provide.

I no longer even try to answer questions that are from AOL addresses--

most of the return addresses are invalid.

If your child needs information on birds for a school report, try http://www.birdsnways.com

If you have a specific question about something I have written on my website, feel free to write.  But be aware that I may not reply immediately, or at all, depending on the nature of your question and how busy I am at the time.

If you have a question about a wild bird you've found, a wild bird's nest, or wild bird eggs, I can not help you. Please go to wildbird.htm for assistance with wild birds.

If you have a species-specific bird care problem or question,

    please go to http://www.birdsnways.com

and seek out a discussion list for the species of bird you own.

If you are having behavior problems with your pet parrot,

go to the Bird-Click discussion list on YahooGroups

or the ClickBirds discussion list on Yahoo Groups

and ask the list members there for advice.

Both lists have members who are professional bird trainers who can help you with problems.
